Laser welding units generate radiation in pulsed and continuous modes. The technology includes spot and welded joints.
For suture welding, continuous mode or pulsed mode with overlapping is used, for spot welding only pulsed mode. The dot method gives minimal deformation and is used to connect products of small thicknesses.
In suture welding, a deep welding channel is formed. The method is highly efficient when processing steel, titanium, copper and aluminium. The beam of high power density destroys surface oxide films and prevents the formation of new ones and does not require the use of protective inert gases.
Welding of elements of small thickness is carried out with beam defocusing, it allows to exclude through burning of the product. To get a strong weld, the laser welding machine needs to be equipped with a radiation source of sufficient power.
